Most wrapping paper is made to be destroyed. Laminated, foiled, glittered — and impossible to recycle. Billions of sheets every year, straight into landfill. Not because people don't care. Because nobody offered them a better alternative. A pattern that repeats itself every year, over and over again.
We want to break patterns and change habits. Patterns are comfortable. Patterns are familiar. Patterns are also how things stay the same. Breaking a pattern is a small act of choosing differently. Scheurpapier wants to be that different choice and show that sustainable and beautiful are not opposites — they are each other's condition.
Scheurpapier makes wrapping paper that is fully recyclable by design, printed with non-toxic inks on responsibly sourced materials. With every package of sheets sold, we plant a tree — not as a gesture, but as a direct consequence of choosing differently. Breaking the pattern starts with the smallest decisions. Our sheets of paper are conversation pieces. they openup discussions about what we take for granted, what we can change, and how design plays a role in that. We're motivated to provide change — As makers , as a brand — not as self-promotion, but because we feel the need to do so.
